Teaming and communication
One 100-word paragraph written by the team on what they experienced regarding teaming and communication (how it progressed between: students, students and the teacher, and students and the technical advisor)
Though our communication had a rocky start, we solved the issue by using a group-messaging app. Because we are all part of the crew team, it was easy to coordinate meetings; we met five times in order to work on our project and to compare our individual research. Communication with our teachers was negligible; we typically referred to the ISTF website for help instead.
We talked with our technical advisor once a week either via email or meetings. We sent her our work so that she could check it for accuracy. Our advisor answered all of our questions and emails.

research and innovation
One 100-word paragraph written by the team on what they experienced regarding research and innovation (what your team learned about researching and innovating a solution to a real world problem).
While researching, we learned that while may be many products available aiming to solve a problem, many are not sufficient to eradicate the problem completely. Also, it was difficult to quantify how many people have a given problem and how much the problem affects their lives. Research is time-consuming. Additionally, we learned that solving a real world problem is difficult because a balance between purpose and practicality must be found. We also discovered that it can be difficult to design a product that fully addresses an issue because problems often vary from person to person; especially in the medical field.

three lessons learned
Lesson One:
The first lesson we learned was that constant communication is a vital skill while doing a project. We often split up work during the research part of our project, and we found that when we didn't fully communicate to each other what we had researched and what we learned, it was very difficult for the rest of the group to understand the project and what we were doing.

Lesson Two:
The second lesson we learned was that it is extremely important to ask the right questions. This applies to both search engines (while researching), and when communicating with our technical advisor and one another. We didn't have an infinite of time to research, nor an infinite amount of time to talk with our technical advisors,so it was essential that we used our time wisely to learn everything that we could. Our technical advisor proved to be a vital resource for clarification.

Lesson Three:
The third lesson we learned was that designing a product is not a simple task. It requires extensive research, questioning, and work. Designing and brainstorming is best done in a group, as many different perspectives can help to strengthen an idea. We found that even when we came up with good ideas, it was difficult to bring them to fruition because of the impracticality or overcomplexity of our ideas. We had to find the perfect balance between functionality and practicality.
